Artist Statement

Gina Biondo: Geometric blocks of close values build up to create representations of suggested space. My prints and drawings are and explorations of various shades of black, sometimes blue. The images can be seen as interior or exterior environments. I am interested in the physicality of material and what those materials with different tactility will ultimately exchange with one another when juxtaposed. For myself, the various process in printmaking allow physical aspects of material to be revealed in the final products. In continuing this experiment, I hope to come to a complete understanding of these images and what will ultimately be revealed.
